About the Role:
RFU News is seeking skilled and motivated freelance motion designers from any country to produce animated videos on war and geopolitical developments. Our coverage focuses primarily on Europe, but also includes key regions in the Middle East, Africa, and other areas of strategic importance. This is a remote freelance role with a flexible schedule, suitable for both full-time and part-time work.
Responsibilities:
• Video creation: 2D map animation
Requirements:
• Proficiency with professional animation and design tools (e.g., After Effects, GeoLayers3, Premiere Pro).
• Ability to animate maps with dynamic elements (troop movements, territorial changes, overlays).
• Knowledge of motion graphics principles: pacing, transitions, typography integration.
• Strong eye for color theory and readability, especially for presenting complex data clearly.
• Ability to follow brand/style guidelines while adjusting to creative variations.
• Strong time management skills for tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail, consistency in fonts, colors, and motion styles across episodes.
• Strong command of English.
• Ability to work quickly and adapt your style when needed.

• Each project includes ≈5 minutes of animation
