Arabs had enough: UAE joins Ukraine to use Flamingo missiles against Iran and Russia
The UAE-based Edge Group is acquiring a 30% stake in the Ukrainian company Fire Point, a leading defense manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems and cruise missiles. The $760 million investment values the company at $2.5 billion and gives the UAE access to combat-proven technology, including the Flamingo missile, which has a range of 3,000 kilometers. Since Fire Point has achieved 97% localization of engine production, the partnership reduces supply chain risks and provides the UAE with comprehensive strike capabilities. This strategic shift allows the UAE to move from a costly interceptor-based defense system toward a proactive deterrence model against regional threats. The deal highlights a growing military-industrial partnership between Kyiv and Abu Dhabi.
