Logistics War: Ukraine’s New Strategy to Bleed Russia
Ukraine’s success on the battlefield is increasingly tied not only to its defensive strength, but also to its ability to disrupt Russian logistics. While layered defenses and better coordination have helped hold the line, halting Russian offensives requires starving them of supplies before battles even begin. A well-fed and armed Russian unit can absorb losses and keep attacking—but cut off fuel, ammunition, and reinforcements, and even elite units will falter. From Kherson to Pokrovsk, Ukraine has already shown that targeting logistics weakens the enemy before combat starts. Now, with the rise of unified drone operations and deeper strikes into enemy territory, Ukraine is preparing to turn logistics attrition into a decisive strategy.
