Russian operation near Vovchansk reversed after sudden flank attack
Russian forces attempted to consolidate a bridgehead in the Vovchansk sector but were met with a high-intensity Ukrainian counter-offensive. By targeting the Russian flank, Ukrainian units collapsed the advance and regained approximately fifteen square kilometers of territory. This maneuver effectively neutralized Russian efforts to infiltrate through forest zones toward Hrafske and Vilcha. Despite the presence of elite Russian drone units like Rubicon, Ukrainian forces utilized topographic advantages and thermal surveillance to disrupt enemy movements. The failure of the Russian command to allocate more than eight thousand personnel to this sector has rendered their infiltration tactics unsustainable. The frontline has stabilized at its initial coordinates, significantly reducing the probability of a Russian breakthrough toward Kharkiv in this theater.
