Ukrainians just rewrote the rules of war with this tactic
Today’s key development from Ukraine is the normalization of robot-on-robot combat across the frontline. Ukrainian ground drones are now actively hunting and destroying Russian FPV drones, clearing routes before vehicles or soldiers move. Footage from the Kostiantynivka area shows coordinated teams where aerial drones detect threats, ground drones neutralize ambush drones, and FPVs eliminate nearby Russian soldiers in seconds. These systems operate as a single network, sharing targeting data instantly and compressing the sensor-to-shooter cycle beyond human reaction times. Unlike soldiers, robots are unaffected by fear or suppression, allowing continuous pressure even in heavily contested drone environments. As a result, Ukrainian robotic coordination is increasingly deciding battles in advance, reducing casualties and eroding Russia’s manpower advantage.
