Border tensions rising: Norway’s civilians prepare for the worst
Norway has initiated a comprehensive strategic pivot in response to Russian informational provocations and maritime security threats. Following Kremlin-led allegations of planned sabotage against Russian naval assets, Oslo has reinforced its northern border and accelerated the integration of its Total Defence model. This framework involves the potential requisition of civilian assets and the mobilization of the Home Guard to counter hybrid threats, particularly near the strategic Murmansk corridors. Simultaneously, Norway is enhancing its anti-access/area denial capabilities by integrating Ukrainian-developed low-cost interceptors into the NASAMS framework to address the logistical challenges of asymmetric attrition warfare.
