Ukrainian jets now strike freely and bomb Russians positions
Ukraine is now reshaping the air war by systematically dismantling Russia’s air-defense network, opening the sky in ways that were previously impossible. Through coordinated strikes by special operations units, drones, and missiles, Ukrainian forces are eliminating radars, launchers, and command nodes across entire sectors. This has created persistent gaps in Russian air defense that cannot be quickly repaired or covered by reserves. As a result, Russian rear areas and frontline units are increasingly exposed to aerial surveillance and precision strikes. Ukrainian aircraft can now operate at higher altitudes and with greater freedom, significantly reducing risk to pilots and increasing strike effectiveness. Control of the air is shifting from contested to increasingly favorable for Ukraine, fundamentally altering the tempo and options of the war.
