Russia’s advance rate drops 44% amid staggering losses
Russian forces are facing setbacks in Ukraine, as a new wave of defensive tactics limits their progress. Over the past month, Ukrainian defenders have forced Moscow to abandon large-scale mechanized assaults in favor of smaller infiltration tactics. These new methods rely on small infantry groups advancing under the cover of darkness and concealment, but they have failed to achieve meaningful breakthroughs. Despite maintaining a record number of daily assaults, Russia’s rate of territorial gains has been cut in half, reflecting the diminishing returns of its offensive strategy. Constant Ukrainian drone surveillance and precise artillery coordination are decimating Russian assault groups long before they reach the front line. The result is a grinding stalemate where Russia continues to expend vast manpower and equipment for only marginal territorial advances.
