Today, we will discuss the most interesting developments along the front line, focusing on Sumy, Kharkiv, Chasiv Yar, Pokrovsk, and its southern fields.

In the Sumy sector, Ukrainian forces are holding firm against a persistent Russian attempt to establish a foothold along the border. After the Russians took Novenke and Zhuravka under their control, Ukraine reinforced the next positions to delay further Russian penetration. However, as this area has been heavily destroyed by intense bombings, it proved equally difficult to defend or capture. Subsequently, Russian forces relied on tree lines and pre-dug shelters for cover.

Despite putting up heavy resistance, a weak point was found, allowing enemy infiltration in the direction of Bilovody and Loknia using forest paths and quad bikes. Most enemy attacks were eliminated before reaching the settlements, but the Russians managed to establish a presence beyond the Veselivka–Zhuravka–Basivka line. Currently, Ukrainian defenders are actively targeting enemy positions and infantry concentrations, particularly in Bilovody and Loknia, with drones and artillery. Although Russia aims to form a buffer zone across Sumy, Ukrainian forces continue resisting with high drone activity, preventing Russian consolidation and turning every village into contested ground.

In the Kharkiv region, Russia has launched a renewed offensive focused on Vovchansk, aiming to retake lost territory and potentially outflank Ukrainian positions. However, initial Russian advances, including Spetsnaz-led assaults through forests and ruined urban areas, have faced stiff resistance from Ukrainian forces. The northern part of Vovchansk is under Russian control, but the town's devastation has turned it into a no-man’s land, limiting further gains. At the same time, Ukrainian troops are holding positions in the southern section of the town, maintaining a presence along the riverbank and the local aggregate factory, which enables them to retain a tactical foothold within the settlement. With progress stalled, Russia is now attempting to expand the front east of Tykhe to stretch Ukrainian defenses.

Switching to the Chasiv Yar sector, Russian forces are effectively pinned down by the overwhelming presence of Ukrainian drones.

Night assaults with armored vehicles have failed repeatedly, often due to Russian crews leaving headlights on, offering no real advantage in the rubble-strewn terrain but revealing their positions nonetheless.

In response, Russian tactics have shifted toward small infantry groups attempting to slip past Ukrainian surveillance. However, the dense drone coverage over the area has rendered this approach equally futile. As battlefield footage shows, once a Russian soldier is spotted, relentless drone strikes ensure there is almost no chance of survival.

Shifting the focus to the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces are attempting to maintain offensive momentum despite suffering continuous and heavy losses. This direction remains the most intensely contested, with the highest number of daily assaults recorded across the front.

Seeking to capitalize on prior advances, Russian command is shifting large troop formations toward this axis in hopes of breaking through. However, recently retaken positions by the Ukrainians have proven pivotal. These gains allow Ukrainian forces to absorb the pressure and maintain control of the situation, halting further Russian exploitation of their earlier breakthroughs.

Switching to the sector southwest of Pokrovsk, Russian forces have failed to achieve a meaningful breakthrough despite repeated attempts. Their frustration led to yet another desperate effort aimed at creating a media spectacle by reaching the Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk border, an act of symbolic rather than tactical value. A small Russian group in a pickup truck attempted to rush the line and pose with flags for propaganda purposes. While they briefly posted celebratory images, Ukrainian forces swiftly struck the unit, later releasing footage confirming the elimination. In this sector, even Russia’s attempts at symbolic victories are being dismantled alongside their stagnating combat efforts.

Overall, at Sumy, the Ukrainian defense is working tirelessly to stop the Russian attempts to establish a buffer zone on Ukrainian territory.

Meanwhile, north of Kharkiv, the Russians have resumed their offensive operations, trying to find a weak point and bypass Ukrainian defense lines.

Inside Chasiv Yar, the Ukrainians continue to destroy Russian units with non-stop drone strikes.

Near Pokrovsk, the Russians are bringing in more troops to compensate for their record-high losses while the Ukrainians continue to deal them more of the same.

Southwest of Pokrovsk, after struggling to advance through the fields, the Russians resorted to a propaganda assault for the media, but quickly suffered a spectacular loss captured on footage.
