Russian advance falls to mere 15 meters/day (!) while losses reach 1,000+ men/day
Ukraine’s battlefield reality is increasingly exposing the gap between Russia’s ambitions and its actual ability to deliver results. Russian forces are advancing at an historically slow pace while absorbing enormous losses, making a decisive military breakthrough increasingly unrealistic. At the same time, Ukraine is rapidly expanding large-scale defensive fortifications faster than Russian troops can move forward, structurally locking in this imbalance. Key urban centers in Donbas remain far out of reach, and even limited gains have required disproportionate time and manpower. Faced with these constraints, Moscow is attempting to compensate through political pressure and negotiations rather than battlefield success. Overall, Russia’s strategy is shifting from conquest by force to seeking territorial concessions it cannot secure militarily.
