Russians oil and Iranian missile ships BURN in the Caspian Sea

The biggest news comes from the Caspian Sea, where Ukraine has shattered Russia’s assumption that this rear area was beyond reach. Ukrainian long-range strikes have hit offshore Lukoil platforms, damaged production infrastructure, and forced repeated shutdowns, signaling a sustained campaign rather than isolated attacks. At the same time, vessels linked to Russian–Iranian weapons transfers have been struck or disabled, disrupting a key logistics route used to supply Shahed drones, missiles, and ammunition. These actions extend Ukraine’s pressure across the entire Russian energy and military supply chain, from extraction and refining to transport and export. Russia and Iran lack the air-defense depth and logistical flexibility to secure the Caspian without weakening other critical fronts, leaving high-value assets exposed. As a result, Ukraine has effectively erased Russia’s strategic depth in the region, opening the door to continued strikes that threaten both war financing and weapons flows.
