Today, we will discuss the most interesting developments along the front line, focusing on Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Siversk, and Zaporizhia.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces once again attempted to shift momentum by intensifying operations toward Vovchansk. Such changes of the vector of attack are a familiar trick in their playbook, yet one that has consistently failed to deliver meaningful results.

Their initial assault across the river into the western forest was quickly contained by Ukrainian defenders. Forced to adapt, Russian troops shifted east of Tykhne, seizing a section of the forested area there. Despite these localized Russian gains, Ukrainian forces remain firmly in control of the broader situation. Previous Russian attempts in this area have repeatedly faltered under precise Ukrainian firepower and coordinated countermeasures. Analysts note that these recent actions reflect desperation more than strategy, as Russian forces continue to rely on limited, low-pressure assaults that have little chance of achieving a breakthrough around Vovchansk.

Moving to the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces are attempting a new maneuver to approach the city from the northwest by expanding their presence south of Radkivka toward Moskovka. Their objective is to penetrate behind Ukrainian lines and establish a foothold closer to Kupiansk itself. Assault groups are actively trying to entrench along the road from Radkivka near the local gas station and from Holubivka toward the first residential zones of the town.

Ukrainian forces are responding swiftly, targeting these formations to prevent the enemy from solidifying positions. However, the situation is complicated by the scale of the Russian advance, which spans a wide area and appears aimed at stretching Ukraine’s defensive lines. The broader goal is to open a deeper breach, block Kupiansk from the west, and disrupt logistical access for Ukrainian defenders. This evolving threat is prompting rapid tactical adjustments as Ukraine works to stabilize the sector and prevent eventual encirclement.

In the Siversk sector, Russian forces take on a slow push, trying to gradually expand the gray zone through repeated failed assaults, while slowly deploying infantry to dig in new positions. Their objective is to reach the outskirts of Siversk, infiltrate the town, and cause a collapse of Ukrainian defenses from within. To prevent this, Ukrainian forces are focused on stopping Russian assaults before they get too close, using layered defenses to eliminate threats at a distance.

Recent Russian attempts have involved sizable assault groups reinforced by mechanized forces to take on multivectored assaults. One major attack, featuring over 25 vehicles, quickly alerted Ukrainian artillery and drone operators, as Russians sent in wave after wave trying to reach the outskirts of Siversk.

Ukrainian drone teams responded swiftly, eliminating two tanks, a BMP, three buggies, and the Russian troops that attempted to disperse into nearby tree lines.

Maintaining a coordinated defense like this is vital to prevent Russian infiltration success, and protecting not just the town, but the entire sector from collapse.

Switching to the Zaporizhia sector, Russian forces recently gained more ground in Kamianske, managing to entrench themselves after initial advances. Their objective appeared to be a continued push northward, using Kamianske as a springboard to pressure surrounding settlements. As seen in other areas, once a breach was found, Russian units began reinforcing the axis with additional resources to maintain their momentum.

However, Ukrainian defenders quickly adapted, relying heavily on FPV drones and air-dropped munitions to halt enemy momentum. These strikes caused severe disruption within Russian ranks, ultimately leading to the collapse of their offensive efforts.

In response, Ukrainian forces launched a swift counterattack, regaining most of the territory lost during the previous weeks. Russian troops were forced to retreat toward the riverbank under sustained fire, leaving behind damaged equipment and casualties. This successful Ukrainian maneuver has temporarily stabilized the frontline and prevented deeper enemy incursion in this sensitive direction.

Overall, north of Kharkiv, the Russians have restarted their effort around Vovchansk, but with little tangible success as predicted in earlier reports.

Meanwhile, in the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops have managed to close in on the town from the northwest, putting the Ukrainian defense under great danger.

Near Siversk, Ukrainian drone operators are destroying Russian armored columns to prevent them from expanding the grey zone closer to the settlement.

South of Zaporizhia, the Ukrainians managed to halt the Russian breakthrough and counterattack, pushing the enemy back and effectively nullifying their latest gains.
